Giysi Takası is hosting its nineteenth clothing swap event on Nov. 29 and 30 at Bilgi University's Central Istanbul Campus.

About Giysi Takası

Founded in 2012 as a non-profit organization, Giysi Takası encourages consumers to swap, reuse and recycle gently worn goods – from dresses to scarfs, and everything in between. Since its founding, the organization has hosted almost 20 clothing swap events around Istanbul – one event being held almost every six weeks. This concept of swapping and recycling clothing and accessories has even been exported by Giysi Takası to other cities, like Berlin.

How It Works

You can bring your gently worn goods to the event and receive a coupon for each piece you wish to exchange. With your coupons you can then “buy” goods being traded by other participants. Giysi Takası takes every item imaginable – pants, dresses, hats, scarves, shoes, jewelry, bags, etc. The only items that can’t be exchanged are under garments and swimming gear. Admission to every clothing swap is always free, and in addition to the actual clothing swap, there are workshops and movie screenings around the theme of environmental consciousness. At the end of the event, all un-swapped clothing will be donated to local charities.
